			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It is human nature to lean towards do things that are &#8216;easy&#8217;.  Unfortunately to think positively is not one of these things.  It takes work at times, especially with a lot of &#8216;negative energy&#8217; around.</p>
<p>One thing we may know, but not be conscious of, is that emotions are contagious.  If you smile, generally it will cause a smile.  If you hug someone, it transfers &#8216;warm fuzzies&#8217;.  If you compliment, it (generally) gets a positive reaction.  These are assuming the &#8216;way&#8217; you send the message across.  Body language.  The smile, hug, and compliment needs to be sent with confident, uplifting, &#8216;positive&#8217; body language (and in the case of the compliment, tone as well).</p>
<p>It is unfortunate, that &#8216;negative feelings&#8217; are also contagious.  For example, if someone in the office is having a bad day, it is generally transferred to the people who communicate, or even come into contact with this person.  If the &#8216;negative&#8217; person is the boss, it generally means a &#8216;bad day at the office&#8217;.  Am I right?  As I mentioned above, it is human nature to actually give in, and allow the &#8216;negativity&#8217; transfer to one self, but we all know, that&#8217;s not very pleasent.</p>
<p>I once saw a study, where positive people, pull positive things to them.  A lot of &#8216;hype&#8217; has been given to this, and it now has it&#8217;s own niche!  I won&#8217;t get into the details of what is explained there, but positive thought, and holistic healing are one in the same.  You need to think positively to be able to heal yourself.  Positive thought helps your body fight, negativity generally lets your body &#8216;give up&#8217;, making it easier for the &#8216;sickness&#8217; to fight.</p>
<p>Positive thought starts on a conscious level.  You need to &#8216;make a habit&#8217; for it to run on &#8216;auto pilot&#8217;.  It is a lot easier to surround yourself with &#8216;positive influences&#8217;.  If you had a hard upbringing, yes it may be hard, but it&#8217;s not impossible.  There are other ways to bypass the &#8216;conscious training&#8217;, whether it be through hypnotism, or <a href="http://www.portervision.com/cvr/myholistictemple/" target="_blank">other means</a>.</p>
<p>How do you start?</p>
<p>For any &#8216;negative thought&#8217; you my have, counter it with a positive.</p>
<p>Examples:</p>
<p>Grandma sent an ugly brown knitted sweater with one arm longer than the other &#8211;&gt; Grandma loves me enough to spend a majority of her time knitting me a heart felt present, and she&#8217;s still alive!</p>
<p>The boss has fired me! &#8211;&gt; I have an opportunity to try something else.</p>
<p>A huge amount of people have died in a natural disaster &#8211;&gt;  People have survived, and there are people out there willing to help them.  Those who have died will be remembered, and are in a good place.  No more pain and suffering around them.</p>
<p>Yes, it&#8217;s simple to think of positives on paper, but when you&#8217;re in a &#8216;situation&#8217;, it is a lot harder.</p>

<p>I would like to share with you a couple of techniques that help me go to sleep when my mind is &#8216;going to town&#8217;.  I haven&#8217;t read any books, or watched any &#8216;how to sleep better&#8217; programs.  These are techniques that work for me, and if you have troubles with sleep, you are more than welcome to try them.</p>
<p><script src="http://adhitzads.com/107969" type="text/javascript"></script></p>
<p><span>Method 1: Listening</span></p>
<p>When I&#8217;ve explained to others how to do this technique, they have told me it&#8217;s the same as &#8216;meditation&#8217;.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Step 1</span>:</p>
<p>When you lie down to sleep, close your eyes and concentrate on the words &#8216;in&#8217; and &#8216;out&#8217;.  So when you inhale, think of the word &#8216;in&#8217;, and &#8216;out&#8217; on the exhale.  If you find yourself thinking about anything other than the words &#8216;in&#8217; and &#8216;out&#8217;, add the word &#8216;and&#8217; in between. The purpose of this step is to block out any &#8216;interferring thoughts&#8217;.  Your conscious mind will be concentrating on the words &#8216;in&#8217; and &#8216;out&#8217;, instead of &#8216;I need to do this&#8217;, or &#8216;I need to do that&#8217;.  Think of it as a mind block.  <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Step 2</span>: When you are solely thinking of the words &#8216;in&#8217; and &#8216;out&#8217;. Replace the words with the audible sounds of your breath (these are too hard for me to spell).   If you &#8216;hear&#8217; any other thoughts coming through, go back to step 1 until you are ready to try step two again.  <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Step 3</span>: When you are ready to go to the next stage, start &#8216;listening&#8217; to yourself &#8216;inhale&#8217; and &#8216;exhale&#8217;.  This step doesn&#8217;t normally take too long, as the sound of breathing will normally put you to sleep (if your not partially asleep already).  If you start &#8216;hearing&#8217; your thoughts coming through again, go back to Step 2.</p>
<p><script src="http://adhitzads.com/107969" type="text/javascript"></script></p>
<p><span>Method 2: Visualisation</span></p>
<p>The purpose of this is to get your mind as far away from reality as possible.  All you need to do is &#8216;act out fictional scenario in your head&#8217;.  Think out every step of the scenario, like your making a movie, or a play.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Example</span>:</p>
<p>You can use a plot from a movie, alternating the main character with yourself if you&#8217;re not ready to use your own imagination.  Another word for this method may be &#8216;fantiscising&#8217;.  If you don&#8217;t go to sleep using this method, at least your eyes and body will have a rest, and your mind a rest from real life.</p>
<p>These techniques may not work for you, but please give them a try for at least a week.  It may take a while to &#8216;train your brain&#8217;, and a week to try each technique I&#8217;m sure for a few people, is minimal to the time you have already suffered from sleep deprivation.  You have nothing to lose (certainly not sleep).</p>
<p>I hope these do however help you, or the person you want to send this blog to (he he &#8211; I know that&#8217;s a bit cheeky <img src='http://myholistictemple.com/wordpress/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' />   ).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The mind is a powerful and curious thing.  Capabilities are amazing.  The saying &#8220;You can do anything if you put your mind to it&#8221; IS a valid sentence.  Although there are a fair few people in this world that are sceptical to what the mind can and can&#8217;t do, there are people proving exactly how powerful the mind is.</p>
<p>As you may know from the beginning sentence, I&#8217;m no professor.  Just a firm believer in &#8216;The power of the mind&#8217;.  &#8216;<a href="http://www.myholistictemple.com" target="_blank">My Holistic Temple</a>&#8216; is focused on &#8216;Self-healing with the mind&#8217;, however we do also promote natural remedies, healthy diets, fitness, and all round healthy living.  We offer a membership site, and an <a href="http://www.myholistictemple.com/shop" target="_blank">ebook store</a> (both are under construction at the moment, but you&#8217;re able to follow us on <a href="http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=140295079318342" target="_blank">facebook</a> and <a href="http://www.twitter.com/Holistic_Temple" target="_blank">twitter</a>).</p>
<p>&#8220;What was your inspiration for the site?&#8221;  I hear you ask?  Well, my partner has always believed in the &#8216;healthy eating&#8217; thing for a long time, and have been on and off it since I was pregnant with my first child.  His mother is also a very healthy conscience person.  She had suffered from cancer in the past, and overcome it using &#8216;self-healing&#8217; techniques.  Positive thought is a powerful thing as I have already said.  I also have a sister, who has fought off at least a couple different types of cancer.  I believe it&#8217;s due to her positive attitude, and strong will.  Sure medication has helped, but we all know if someone gives up, it&#8217;s pretty hard to fight.</p>

<p>My partner had also read some AMAZING books on &#8216;The power of the mind&#8217;, and was totally blown away.  I&#8217;ve always believed in postive thought; not only in health but in life, which may be considered the same thing.</p>
<p>What is &#8216;Holistic Healing&#8217;?  Just as a basic idea, I&#8217;d like to share with you the extract from &#8216;<a href="http://www.wikipedia.org" target="_blank">Wikipedia</a>&#8216;:</p>
<p>&#8220;<em><strong>Holistic health</strong> is a concept in medical practice upholding that all aspects of people&#8217;s needs, psychological, physical and social,and mentally should be taken into account and seen as a whole. As defined above, the holistic view on treatment is widely accepted in medicine.<sup class="reference"><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holistic_health#cite_note-0">[1]</a></sup> A different definition, claiming that disease is a result of physical, emotional, spiritual, social and environmental imbalance, is used in <a title="Alternative medicine" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternative_medicine">alternative medicine</a>.<sup class="reference"><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holistic_health#cite_note-1">[2]</a></sup> Holistic health focuses on all facets of human functioning, which involves our taking responsibility for maintaining all aspect of our well-being.</em></p>
